From Pucci to Gucci

So Milan Fashion Week is underway and the photos of the shows are pouring in on Style. I am IN LOVE with Peter Dundas at Emilio Pucci (he replaced Matthew Williamson and debut his first collection for Pucci's aw09 show) It is an amazing collection. He has captured the essence of Pucci through his eyes. There are some comparisons to Balmain, but I just think Peter is being current in trends.
Check out the boots!
The Gucci collection for aw09 was extremely disappointing, which is weird because Gucci has been looking amazingly for the past two collections (aw08 will always be my favorite collection, ever. Hello, studded boots and pirate inspired shirts are perfect.) However, the presentation on the runway for this collection has beeenn donnnee and I understand that Gucci is targeting a younger audience, but we've seen sequence tops and leggings. I just picked a couple of my favorite looks. I always love the Gucci runway shoe and the sunglasses will be mine in addition to the Marc Jacobs.
ADAM for MANGo

Late last week, Adam Lippes formally introduced his 20-piece (women’s and men’s) collection for Mango at the Gramercy Park Hotel after working with the Spanish mega-brand for more than a year. “I approached this from the American sportswear point of view,” the designer told Chic Report. “That’s what they wanted, that’s what I do and I guess it worked out!” Well, it worked out from more than just a design perspective. Lippes is the big fan of Barcelona from its food and sights to the company’s impressive airport hanger inspired design headquarters. “Mango is a brand with their own identity,” Lippes added. “They’re not a designer copy store. They have a huge group of very talented designers and they’re extremely intelligent about their process. It’s an amazing space filled with young people, art, and inspiration. For me it was a year based collaboration, and now they extended for another one. I would work there full-time if I could, that’s how much I love Barcelona!”

Donatella brings in Christopher Kane

Donatella Versace has enlisted Scots designer Christopher Kane to look over the youthful side of the Versace business, Versus, designing a collection of accessories for autumn/winter 2009-10."I am very happy about this collaboration with Christopher Kane," Donatella Versace revealed. "Christopher is a highly creative young designer and his work impressed me from the very beginning. His rock n roll style is very powerful, glamorous and sensual - perfectly in tune with the mood of Versus - which was always intended for young people who want clothes that project a personal style that is constantly evolving."
