The Row is expanding...

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have announced that their women's label The Row will soon also carry menswear."When we looked in the men's market, we couldn't really find basics you could wear with designer — the same concept as our women's. So we started the process with pants and blazers, because we knew it would take time to get that right," said Ashley. On beginning the design process the twins were inspired by their favourite menswear collections, notably Lanvin and Tom Ford, and focused on the customer they hoped to attract. "It's definitely an older, masculine man," Ashley told WWD. T-Shirts start at around $200 and men can expect to pay more than $3000 for a coat.

Jessica Alba in ELLE

Jessica Alba is in the March issue of Elle magazine and she looks stunning!!..can you believe she just had a baby!? In her interview here is what she had to say about fashion..

On fashion: “I’ve always loved beautiful clothes, but I’m not very hip to the coolest, newest, most fashionable thing. I’ve always liked mixing casual things with nice, beautiful pieces – mixing masculine and feminine. I just didn’t always know how to do it. As a kid, I bought random, thrift store stuff and hoped that it worked. Sometimes it didn’t.”

New York Fashion Week on the move

New York Fashion Week will relocate to a new home next season beginning in September 2010. Instead of Bryant Park, it will move to the Lincoln Centre due to lack of space.

"Let Them Eat Cake"

Christian Louboutin has taken inspiration from Marie Antoinette to create an incredible pair of shoes. Louboutin has teamed up with renowned embroiderer to produce 36 pairs of the Antoinette shoe with a price tag of $6,295. Each pair will have a limited edition number imprinted on the shoe and will be sold at the Louboutin boutique in New York starting on Feb. 26.

NY Photoshoot

Zoe Kravitz, daughter of singer Lennie Kravitz, and Olivia Thirlby do a photoshoot in New York with Annie Liebovitz. I can't wait to see the end result! Anything Annie Liebovitz does is pure genius.

Drama in "The City"

Even though the show has been picked up for another season, Page Six is reporting some drama on the set. Apparently, MTV wanted Whitney and Olivia to get into a physical altercation (including hair pulling). haha that sounds pretty amazing, but I'd rather watch cat fights on "Rock of Love" thank you very much! Here is the article from Page Six

TWO of the pretty stars of the MTV reality series "The City" are horrified because producers are pressuring them to get into a hair-pulling, claws-bared catfight to boost the show's ratings.
It's no secret that MTV producers stage (or as they say, "reshoot") some scenes in their "reality" shows such as the Los Angeles-based "
The Hills."
But according to an insider on the Manhattan-based "The City," they're taking it to another level with stars
Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port, who both "work" in public relations for Diane von Furstenberg.
"MTV wanted the girls to get into a physical fight at the DVF office," said our source. "Olivia was very disturbed by the request . . . The girls were both really uncomfortable."
The source added that Port and Palermo both threatened to walk off the set if they were forced to participate in a fight scene.
"Even though people think their jobs at DVF aren't real, both girls are really excited to be working in the fashion world, and wouldn't want to be seen getting into a fight in a professional setting," the source said.
"MTV responded to the protests by turning the 'fight' scene into an altercation at work, in which Olivia gets upset at Whitney's boyfriend Jay [Lyon] for showing up to a fund-raiser underdressed" - although, in fact, our insider says, "Olivia could care less about what Jay is wearing.
"It's very hard for her because the show wants to portray her as mean and bitchy, and she just wants to be herself," our source said. "It's been really tough for her, but she can't quit because she's under contract."
MTV said, "On Friday we shot with Whitney and Olivia at DVF, during which time no physical altercation took place. We would never encourage our talent to engage in that type of negative behavior."
Palermo's rep said, "Of course the show is edited to heighten the entertainment value."
